The Team Expedition Subterranea will go down in history. Eventually, we will reach the Hollow Earth.
For this, we are looking for exceptional individuals to accompany our team of 6 persons on this 2.5-month expedition.
Who are we looking for?
Our Hollow Earth expedition takes us through extreme conditions: enormous heat, darkness,
seismic activity and complete isolation from the Earth’s surface for months. Our team isn’t looking for perfect people, but people with the right core 😉
- Minimum age 21 years, no upper age limit if fitness is sufficient
- Experience in extreme environments (mountaineering, caving, diving, desert hiking, etc.)
- Climbing certificate required (basic course)
- Mental resilience
- Teamwork and cooperation skills
- Multilingualism welcome; English language skills required
- A scientific, technical, or medical background is advantageous
- Total availability from January 2028 for at least 4 months
What risks and requirements are there?
Geological hazards
Seismic activity, gas emissions, unstable rock formations and undocumented areas of the Earth's mantle
Physical stress
Temperatures up to 70 °C, high air pressure and minimal freedom of movement in narrow tunnels
Psychological stress
Complete isolation from daylight, no contact with the outside world, constant sensory deprivation and risk of claustrophobia
Required fitness level
Cardiorespiratory fitness: VO₂max ≥ 45 ml/kg/min (medical certificate); Functional strength & muscular endurance (load capacity of 25 kg for 8 hours & swimming ability); Mobility (basic climbing skills)
Donating for our Team Expedition Subterranea
Our Team Expedition Subterranea is independent and does not receive any government funding.
We are funded by sponsors and people who share our vision.
Your donation specifically enables financial support for three areas:
Safety equipment
- heat protection suit
- respirator mask
- emergency communication device
Camera equipment
- professional camera equipment
- night vision cameras
- thermal imaging cameras (preventing us from entering areas that are too hot and would penetrate the heat protection suit)
- Documenting the expedition, we can subsequently present our scientific findings to the public.
Education and public relations
- We want to make our scientific findings accessible to the general public through workshops and public lectures.
- We need additional materials such as brochures, projectors and screens to ensure our presentations are successful.
- We rent suitable event spaces that offer enough room for a large audience.
