Where is Edwin Terrus?

What we know today about the hollow Earth, we owe to Edwin Terrus. The British geologist and speleologist disappeared in 1978 during an expedition in Antarctica – leaving behind only his notebook. In it, he describes a hidden world deep beneath the Earth’s surface: Subterranea.

Who is Edwin Terrus?

British speleologist Edwin Terrus is considered the discoverer of Hollow Earth. Here is a short biography:

  • Born on 8 December 1937 in Liverpool.
  • In 1963 he completed his geology studies at Cardiff University
  • In the 1970s, he took part in several research missions in Antarctica

Edwin Terrus’ notebook

The roughly 100-page notebook is the only source we have about Hollow Earth. It includes both written descriptions and drawings. It is structured as follows:

After the notebook was found in Antarctica, it could not be found for several years. It wasn’t until 1992 that it reappeared in a safe deposit box in Geneva.

Where is Edwin Terrus today?

After Terrus disappeared without a trace during a mission in 1978, it is not known where he is or whether he is still alive at all. There are several theories about his fate:

  • He lives in Hollow Earth as a guest of the locals there.
  • He died after he brought the notebook to the surface.
